Kristy,Wonderful job! You are such an inspiration with all your devotion and efforts for your family and all other families with special needs! Thanks for all you do for so many!
Thank you for starting this website. I, like you, have a very special daughter who is very similar to Emily. I feel much like you when it comes to my daughter and share your devotion. Thank you again for starting the site. It is very helpful!
What a great service you are doing with this site---a resource families will value so much! You arevery gifted in your ability to explain these different modalities!!!! Thank you for taking the time!
Hi Kristy - I came across your site as a mother searching for the best care plan for our daughter Emma. She has had seizures since April 2008 which was due to a possible viral brain infection, but we could never find an exact cause. We too have been trying different medications, keto diet and now recently the VNS. I would love to talk with you more so if you would like that please email me. We also live in MN. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I just stumbled upon this site today and have cried reading what I have so far. I have a daughter, 11 yrs old, that is mentally and physically handicapped. Her diagnosis is Miller-Dieker Syndrome. She is completely and utterly dependent on me, my husband, and her teachers for everything. (mostly me) She will be having a VNS placed November 2nd and I'm nervous about it. She had a trach for 2+ years and had that removed almost a year ago, with so far no complications. I was nervous for those procedures, but not like this. Your site has given me some hope, answered some questions and relieved some concerns, so thanks so much for that. Also, I think this blog has motivated me to start my own....hopefully soon!

Great blog, love the template.
Hi Kristy! Just happened upon your blog. Great info. I'm in Stillwater, and my son, Greg (17) is a client at Courage St. Croix & is on anti-seizure meds. Hugs to Emily and your family!
My mission is to share my experiences with our daughter, Emily, with you so that you can learn from us and hopefully help you decide to try or not try something outside of the box.
